Announcing 2010 AWC Election - 4/25/2010

The AWC fiscal year and the tenure of the current AWC Board end on June 30. Election of the incoming officers and Board members will occur at the May 19 AWC program meeting. Only current members in good standing (dues paid) may vote in the election.

We are happy to announce the following slate of volunteer candidates for election at that time:

     President                         Lakesia Campbell
     Vice President                  Marilyn Sander
     Secretary                         Carolyn Riley
     Treasurer                         Karen Brown
     Director of Education        Brenda Black
     Director of Membership     Linda King
     Director of Communication Vivien Whitehead

For members unable to attend the May meeting, absentee ballots are available on the AWC website.

The election will be conducted in accordance with AWC-Houston bylaws:

- Write-in votes, (that is, votes cast for members other than those appearing in the ballot), are specifically allowed.
- Absentee ballots received by the Secretary by the date of the May Chapter meeting shall be tallied.
- Elections for officers and other Board members shall be determined by a plurality of those voting. Tie votes shall be resolved by a majority vote of the currently sitting Board.
