To view our website, please go to http://www.schumachergroup.com. POSITION PURPOSE/FUNCTION: Manages the compensation and benefit functions for all company departments. Plans, develops and implements new and revised compensation programs, policies and procedures, in order to be responsive to the company’s goals and competitive practices. Assures that programs are administered in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Evaluates and monitors the effectiveness of existing policies, guidelines and procedures • Develops mechanisms for reporting compensation and benefits data in order to advise and forecast issues related to compensation and benefits • Serve as company expert on compensation and benefits, bringing the latest trends and innovative ideas to the forefront • related to compensation and benefits to ensure consistency with Corporate objectives • Ensures that the company remains compliant with federal, state and local laws and regulations related to compensation and benefits • Oversees the administration of all aspects of compensation (exempt, nonexempt, pay grades, incentive plans and reward programs) • Oversees the administration of all benefit programs • Supervises the participation in and conduct of salary surveys to ensure compensation objectives are achieved • Advises management on pay decisions, policy and guideline interpretation and job evaluation to include the design of solutions to specific compensation challenges • Oversees all communications related to compensation and benefits to ensure that employees have clear, concise, understandable information about their compensation and benefit options • Responsible for, with legal consultation, preparation and execution of, employment agreements, when applicable and original and amended benefit plan documents • Supervises all personnel assigned to tasks related to compensation and benefits • Makes recommendations regarding changes/additions in staffing as related to the compensation and benefits functions Educational and/or Professional Qualifications: • Bachelor degree required, preferably in Business, Human Resources, or Management • MBA preferred • PHR or SPHR certification preferred Previous Experience: • Minimum of five years experience in Human Resources or Finance • Minimum of two years experience in compensation and/or benefits administration • Prior experience in supervising the work of others • Prior experience related to managing data in a database environment. • Prior experience with any database report writing systems. • Prior experience related to formulating and understanding business process design. Attributes / Skillsets: • Motivated self-starter, capable, with minimal supervision, of planning, developing and maintaining individual projects • Mathematical aptitude and analytical skills • Excellent organization skills • Excellent interpersonal skills • Excellent analysis and project management skills • Highly detail oriented. • Ability to communicate effectively throughout all levels of the organization, including the executive level • Very high level of critical thinking and reasoning skills.
