Job Description
SPECIALTY CHEMICALS PLANT IN LAFAYETTE, LA NEEDS:

PROCESS ENGINEER

• Direct Hire / Staff Position

DESCRIPTION:

Small plant in Lafayette with lots of growth potential needs a Process Engineer who will be responsible for providing technical expertise and engineering support for maintenance and operations – identify and implement improvements in product quality, production rates, product costs.

Duties Include:

• Acting as the coordinator for new product trial and process changes, preparing trail runs and reporting and coordinating changes.
• Providing project scope, project justification and process design.
• Preparing and maintaining process specifications documents.
• Providing technical assistance to shift leaders.
• Participating in long-term focused, root cause, troubleshooting of process and equipment problems.
• Conducting project design reviews and HAZOPs.
• Documenting process conditions and problems for each production run.
• Providing training for the production department.
• Reviewing and analyzing plant production data.

BACKGROUND:

The ideal candidate will have:

• 3+ years experience in chemical manufacturing.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Good computer skills.
• The ability to travel for work, work overtime and weekends.
• Good communication skills and the ability to make group presentations.
