Position Description: This position serves as the principal assistant to DOTD’s HR Director, with additional responsibility for managing the Personnel Management and Benefits Unit.
This position directly supervises two HR Specialists (over Performance Appraisals and Succession Planning and HR Training) and one HR Supervisor (over the Benefits Unit).
The incumbent assists appointing authorities over diverse operations and employee classifications in resolving diverse issues and in the establishment of internal personnel management related policies and procedures consistent with established principles of personnel management and employment law, Civil Service rules, federal laws and agency policies and procedures.
As unit manager, the incumbent plans and directs activities for the Personnel Management and Benefits Unit to include developing goals, assigning job duties, establishing work standards, monitoring work flow, auditing work products and overseeing the continuous improvement of work processes.
Requirements: A baccalaureate degree plus five years of professional level human resources experience, including one year at the advanced level.
