POSITION PURPOSE/FUNCTION: Manages the Employee Payroll team and oversees the Payroll cycles RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary Functions: • Responsible for timeliness and accuracy of all bi-weekly and monthly payrolls • Reviews all employee payroll transactions for accuracy • Edits and posts payroll journal lines • Transmit to and reconcile quarterly taxes with Ceridian • Prepare and maintain monthly liability schedules • Reconcile employee payroll bank accounts • Prepare monthly accrual journal entries • Verify all policy and procedure guidelines are maintained • Prepare annual 401k census • Facilitate yearly 401k filings & audit • Responsible for annual workers’ compensation audit • Facilitate annual W-2 processing and reconciliations • Attend various management meetings
Secondary Functions: • Any other duties as assigned at the discretion of Management • Analysis/reports to other departments upon request
QUALIFICATIONS: Educational and/or Professional Qualifications: • Associates Degree or Relevant Experience • CPP a plus
Previous Experience: • Minimum 5 years previous payroll experience
Other Special Training/Skills: • Good oral and written communication skills • Good organizational and time management skills • Very detail oriented individual • Must work well with others • Excel experience a must • Must be able to work under moderate stress and pressure while maintaining a professional attitude • Job requires a high level of mental awareness • Must be able to conduct themselves in a professional manner via phone, e-mail, business letters and fax • Must be able to work with little guidance and be able to lead the employee payroll team • Good analytical skills
