AWBC Leaders Named  2011 SBA Women in Business Champions



Michelle Richards


The SBA Michigan District Office recognizes Michelle Richards, Executive Director fot the Center for Empowerment and Economic Development as the SBA Michigan Women in Business Champion of the Year. Michelle is an advocate for women and is known among her peers as an outstanding champion of small business.

Sharon Miller


The US Small Business Administration Women in Business Champion of the Year for 2011 award also goes to Sharon Miller Chief Executive Officer of Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center, a
position she has held since 1999. Sharon also serves as the Board Chair
of CAMEO (California Association of Micro-enterprise Organizations) and
is a member of the board of the National Association of Women's
Business Centers (AWBC).

Fran Pastore Appointed to National Women's Business Council


Fran Pastore

Donna A. James, Chairwoman of the National Women's Business Council (NWBC) today announced the names of
nine newly appointed women to the Council. Council members will serve
three-year terms on this nonpartisan federal advisory council created to
serve as an independent source of advice and policy recommendations to
the President, Congress, and the U.S. Small Business Administration on
economic issues of importance to women business owners. Among the newly
appointed Council Members is Fran Pastore, founder, President and CEO of
the Women's Business Development Council, Stamford, CT.  Click here
