Join RWN in collaboration with Monroe Community College American Association for Women in Community Colleges as they present an evening of networking & a free screening of Miss Representation, a documentary film that premiered at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival, which challenges the covered reality that we live in, but fail to change. Have you taken a closer look at the way women are portrayed in the social media lately and would you say these images shock you? As a society we have we become unconsciously aware of the level of vulgarity and societal pressures against women, some of which have been around for decades. Is this an issue worth challenging or is it a matter that is specific to women? Following the film a discussion will be led by Tom Pirouette and Christine Plumeri – we encourage your participation.
