ASHRM’s Coaching Group, formerly known as the “ASHRM Mentoring Group”, offers informal and interactive group coaching sessions. The Coaching Group meetings are facilitated by HR professionals with 20+ years of experience, and target the following individuals:
1. Newer (less than 3 years) HR professionals;
2.Someone in an HR department of one or two; or
3.A seasoned HR professional that would like to evolve/ develop/ reflect upon their work.
We will meet four times per year on the 4th Wednesdays of March, May, July, and September. Our purpose is to:
1.Discuss the “Hot Topics” or problems/ conflicts/ issues that are keeping you up at night and introduce “best practices” to address such;
2.Present valuable information to help you manage and/or avoid those situations mentioned in (1) above; and
3.Improve critical thinking skills regarding those sensitive HR issues that professionals are hesitant to talk about in non-HR company!
These sessions shall be conducted during the lunch hour, and ASHRM will provide a light lunch. LEDA has offered its conference room to us, but in case there is a schedule conflict, Tessa Brown of LANtec (900 E. Saint Mary Blvd)has offered its conference room as a back-up.
If you would like to participate, please go to the ASHRM website to register. Look for “Group Coaching Sessions”. Our first meeting is scheduled for March 25th at LEDA, located at 211 E. If more individuals want to participate, then we’ll consider a second group. So, first come, first served!
