The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for the overall administration and coordination of the Human Resource function for the company. This position’s objective is to maintain an employee-oriented, high performance culture and will carry out the responsibilities of recruiting and staffing, learning and development, compensation and benefits, employee relations, and compliance.
The Human Resource Generalist position is an exempt position and reports to the Organizational Development Coordinator and currently has no direct reports.
Coordinates and conducts all employee recruiting efforts; leads the interview, selection and hiring; conducts new-employee orientation Develops and implements a training program to support the organization’s growth strategy Develops and administers a performance management program Develops and administers a compensation program, including annual benchmarking Performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefit information to employees Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all company employees; assists in the development and implementation of employee policies and procedures Handles employee relations issues, such as investigating, mediating, and resolving disputes and directing disciplinary procedures Maintains compliance with federal and state regulatory agencies concerning human resources and employment Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 report annually; maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database Performs other duties as assigned periodically by supervisor The above responsibilities are not arranged in order of priority and are not all-inclusive. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, or similar course of study and three (3) years’ human resource experience, or equivalent experience in the human resources field; experience in a construction/construction equipment or related field is preferred. Strong, effective communicator in writing, business presentations, and interpersonal communication. Demonstrates a high degree of confidentiality. General knowledge of employment law, compensation, employee relations, safety and training and development. Familiarity and skill with the tools of the trade in human resources including Human Resources Information Systems, Microsoft Office suite of products, file management, and benefits administration. Physical Requirements
The physical demands of this position must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time and frequently stand and walk. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move office equipment up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include viewing computer monitors. Most work is performed in an office environment during normal business hours.
