The HR Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior management in supporting designated assigned areas of the organization. This role performs activities necessary in the administration of human resources policies, procedures and programs. Responsibilities are in the functional areas of employee relations, coaching and development, onboarding, policy implementation, benefits administration, compensation, HRIS, training, record management and employment law compliance.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
First point of contact for assigned areas of the organization for resolution. Manages hire to retire process for assigned areas. New hire onboarding to include: vetting and approval of new hire requests, creation of offer letter, drug screen and background check management, finalization of new hire process. Maintain a variety of human resources records including but not limited to individual employee personnel and benefit files. Assistance in the performance evaluation and merit increase process, assistance in job description development and maintenance, HR process and procedure training and provides technical support and assistance in projects as needed. Assist in employee orientation related to processing new hire paperwork and payroll processing. Provide assistance in correspondence related to human resources, benefits and payroll inquiries. Provide guidance and assistance as needed to center management regarding complex and sensitive employee relations situations, disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans and grievance investigations. Ensures compliance with company policies and federal/state/local reporting requirements, including FMLA, COBRA, ADAAA and EEO compliance. Provide assistance in various payroll reporting and additional data entry as needed. Maintain strict confidentiality of all employee related information. Other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Have no direct personnel supervisory responsibilities. However, serves in advisory role to management and employees to assure center management and personnel are in compliance with federal/state/local regulations.

Education and Training:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management or equivalent work experience required. HR Certification may be accepted in lieu of degree. 3-4 years Human Resources (HR) Generalist experience required. Critical thinking skills and extensive employee relations experience required. Knowledge of federal/state/local regulations FMLA, COBRA, ADAAA, EEO and other regulations. Must be proficient in Excel functionality to include but not limited to pivot tables, complex formulas, v-lookups, etc. Strong organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills required. Demonstrate self-motivational ability and be able to work with minimal supervision. Must have legible handwriting and an eye for detail. Must be able to use PC and spreadsheets effectively and be capable of working with Word and Excel programs. May be required to occasionally visit centers.
