|We just got back from dinner. It was a restaurant in a hotel that this just a short walk from here. Our group is too large to fit around 1 table so we haven't really met everyone yet. Dinner was pretty good. They brought out lots of food on a lazy susan and you could sample anything you wanted. Ansley had lots of rice and a glass of water. I had lots of rice (I was sooo hungry) and tried some of the meat and vegetables. I also had soup that had cabbage and noodles in it. It was pretty good. John had rice, some meat, some meatballs and a little bit of soup.
Before we ate dinner I took Ansley to the bathroom to wash her hands. A little lady that works at the hotel followed us into the bathroom and just looked at Ansley and kept saying something in Chinese. I think she was commenting on her hair and eyes. Then Ansley said hello in Chinese and the lady thought that was the greatest thing! Then she started teaching Ansley some phrases and having Ansley repeat them. Ansley would repeat them and then the lady would give her the thumbs up sign.
We came back to the hotel around 7:30 or so. Ansley and I stayed in the room and I ironed clothes and started getting stuff ready for our big tour day tomorrow. John, Don, Bunny, and Ken all went out on the streets to find a market that isn't far away from here. Ansley and I found a Chinese kids station on TV and even though Ansley couldn't understand a word of it she sat and watched it for an hour or so. They even had a commercial on there for one of the Barbie movies. Ansley's comment was "no way!". I guess she didn't know they had Barbie here too!
Oh yeah, Ron & Jan.......Ansley rode space mountain at DisneyLand. Emma was doing it so she wanted to go too. It wasn't a pleasant experience. John said she screamed at the top of her lungs and her comment was "This has got to end now!". She kept telling me over and over that they made her drop and that it was dark and she didn't like it. She blames us for making her go even though she's the one who wanted to do it in the first place. John said it wasn't as big as the one at Disney World. It's a good thing because she might not have made it if it was. She's decided to stick to the roller coasters outside that she can see!
Good night....we are going to bed because we have to get up early tomorrow to meet downstairs to start our day of touring. We leave at 8:30 am and don't get back until 7 or 7:30 pm tonight. I think Tom is taking us to eat duck tomorrow night. I'm not thrilled about that. I might be eating rice again. :-)
