Certification Exam Study Group

Wednesday, June 06, 2018 - Wednesday, July 11, 2018

Registration Deadline Date is 6/4/2018

For those interested in sitting for the PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP exams, we will be conducting a study group in exam prep. The modules will follow the HRCI testing modules, but the information will still be relevant to those taking the SHRM exams. If you have not yet begun your own exam prep, then you need to get started. This course is designed to help you put some of the mountain of information you are studying into some perspective. Sessions will be on Wednesday evenings from 6-9PM at the Stutes Building at Acadian Village. We are recommending the Mathis/Jackson book for participants to use to study. We will use an open discussion format for the sessions. We will have an Advisor for each session there to share their knowledge with the group and answer any questions that participants may have. Each participant needs to come to each session prepared to discuss the topic of the week in order to get the most from the sessions.

Employee Motivation

Wednesday, June 13, 2018

Registration Deadline Date is 6/13/2018

Come expecting a vibrant, informative, and engaging session on “Employee Motivation”. Motivation is less about employees doing great work and more about employees feeling great about their work. The better employees feel about their work, the more motivated they remain over time. When we step away from the traditional carrot or stick to motivate employees, we can engage in a new and meaningful dialogue about the work instead. Albert Mensah will give participants several types of tools to become a great motivator, including goal setting and influencing skills. Participants will also learn about five of the most popular motivational models, and how to bring them together to create a custom program. Albert will provide the tools and inspiration to help your company emerge on the other side, your employees to feel highly empowered, successful and ready to embrace change. Sponsored by Prime Occupational Medicine.
